Watched this wonderful play based on the life of Srimad Rqjchandra, a Jain sadhu (not deeksharthi), who was Gandhiji’s spiritual guide for 12 years. Learnt many new things about him, Gandhiji and Kasturba. Amazing concept, research and superb execution.
My takeaways from the play:
- Satya, ahimsa, daya and maitri (truth, nonviolence, compassion and friendliness are universal principles, beyond limitations of religion, philosophy or language. They are also Yama and Niyama prescribed by Patanjali 2500 years ago in Yoga Sutra.
- Everyone needs a mentor/ guru who can help one find purpose of life, guide in times of crisis, ignite /+ rekindle self worth, and answer all the queations without imposing own ideology. I’m searching for one.
- To make a great man successful, many others sacrifice, compromise and facilitate. None can claim to be successful all by one’s own capacities or hard work.
- History is written with one perspective. Holistic perspective is needed to understand what happens and why it happens.
